What’s On At Duncan Mackinnon This Week

Summer Training
Training is from 5:30pm to 6:30pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (no U6/U7/U8 on Thursday).

New Checking In Process
Please ensure you have booked into training via Stack Team App no later than 4pm on the day of training. Ensure your child knows which event you have booked them into.

In an effort to relieve congestion at the check in desk, starting this week we request that athletes do the following on arrival:

-On Track (U6/U7) athletes and Trial athletes continue to check in at the desk to have their names marked off.
-U8-U17 Athletes booked in via Team App will be directed to their specific event area and wait for their coach, who will mark attendance.
—Athletes on a wait list for a specific event will be directed to a waiting area to see if a spot becomes available for them.
-Athletes not booked in via Team App will need to go to an event that is not full or wait until a spot can be found for them.
-Please book your child into 1 event only at training.
-A parent or guardian must be present at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve during competition and training.
-No dogs allowed at the track.

What to consider when booking into training
This week’s competition is our Club’s Combined Events round (also known as the Multi round). All athletes will compete in 3 to 5 events (depending on their age group). Events will include 100m, hurdles, long jump, discus (boys) or shot put (girls), 400m (U7-U8) or 800m (U9-U17). From the results of each event, athletes accumulate points. At the end of all events, the top 3 scores in each age group will receive an award (ribbons for U7s, medals for U8+).

How to book in to training
Book in for training via Stack Team App by no later than 4pm on the day of training.
-Download at www.caulfieldlacathletics.teamapp.com and access CaulfieldLAC.
-Click on Training Schedule.
-Click on RSVP and Yes.
-Please cancel out of training if you cannot attend by going back in and selecting No.

Please book your child into 1 event only.

If you are experiencing issues booking in, please exit the app and try logging in again.

Safety at training
Safety is paramount at all times. All parents and children need to be cautious where they stand, sit or walk during training. Always look both ways when crossing the track and grassed infield area.

Most nights there will be discus, shotput and javelin being thrown, so the infield grassed area is a dangerous place to be. Please also note we share the track with other clubs and therefore need to be mindful and respectful to other users.

Please speak to our Training Coordinator who is on duty at training if you have any questions. If you have questions for coaches please ask them at the end of the session so as not to disturb or distract the coaches and athletes.

Weather
Athletics is an all weather sport. We will not train in dangerous conditions including lightning events. If a cancellation is required to training, we will publish the cancellation 1 hour before the scheduled start time on our Facebook page and send an alert via Team App.

Week 4 of Competition. Club Combined Event. Pack Up: U12 Boys.
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th November
State Combined Events Championships (U9-U17). No Club Competition at Duncan Mackinnon.
Sunday 20th November
Mentone Relay Day
Saturday 3rd December
SMR Relay Competition (U9-U17). No Club Competition at Duncan Mackinnon.
